Victorian Portraits
These portraits of my close friends are encased in acrylic, laser cut frames, embroidered with colored thread. I wanted to focus on the frame to see how it influences the interpretation of the subject. The intricate lacing references the hand crafting that women in the Victorian era often engaged with, as they used their own hairs to create jewels and pins.
